DeSean Jackson Community Health Fair This Saturday For Immediate Release: Tuesday May 8, 2012
Friday May 11 at 4PM: A Press Conference to discuss the DeSean Jackson Foundation Community Health Fair will be held at the Triumph Baptist Church at 4PM, Friday May 11, 2012. (1648-52 West Hunting Park, Philadelphia, PA 19140)
Saturday May 12 10AM to 3PM: The DeSean Jackson Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer, Philadelphia Eagle DeSean Jackson and Pastor James S. Hall of Triumph Baptist Church will host a Community Health Fair at Triumph Baptist Church on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 10AM to 3PM. Free to the public.
The unprecedented health awareness event is driven by DeSean Jackson’s commitment to raise awareness of Pancreatic Cancer and spread the message of healthy living. A healthy lifestyle may help fight the possibility of getting Pancreatic Cancer yet there is no screening process for Pancreatic Cancer and 75% of the people that get it die in the first year. Those that do get Pancreatic Cancer have a 2-3% chance of survival and it’s the 4th deadliest cancer known.
“It’s important to me, my family and the foundation to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to stay healthy and learn about Pancreatic Cancer. This event helps do all these things and brings the community together. If we work together we can live better, longer and help find an end to Pancreatic Cancer”. -DeSean Jackson.
The Foundation event honors the legacy of DeSean Jackson’s father, William “Bill” Jackson, who died from Pancreatic Cancer in 2009.
