2011: Arrived in Portland July 21, 2011 following a trade with the Houston Dynamo. Made his club debut in a friendly against Independiente (Argentina) on July 26. In his second league start for the Timbers, scored his first goal of the season Aug. 3 in
a 3-0 home win over LA Galaxy … Recorded assists in back-to-back home games on Aug. 24 and Sept. 16 … Finished the season with four points (1 goal, 2 assists) – all coming with Portland in 14 matches (13 starts).

Chabala joined the Timbers midway through their inaugural MLS season. He was acquired, along with defender Lovel Palmer, from the Houston Dynamo in exchange for midfielder Adam Moffat and allocation money on July 21, 2011. Chabala was a
fourth-round pick (44th overall) in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft by Houston out of the University of Washington. A seven-year MLS veteran, Chabala recorded his best year in 2010 with Houston (1 goal, 4 assists in 25 matches).

Chabala is available for appearances in the Portland area and works hard to make a difference in the community.
